When an italian citizen carries out the vital records of underage children, he will automatically grant them italian citizenship, since the children of italian citizens, even if they were born abroad and possibly have another nationality, are italian citizens.

 

The vital records documents the most important civil events in the lives of Italian citizens (birth of children, marriage, divorce, death, etc.). Therefore, the birth of children must be transcribed in Italy.

 

For this, the compatriot must consult the website of the competent diplomatic representation which is the procedure for sending the documentation to request the birth registration of their minor children.
